I made this card using the sketch for the June contest in MFT stamps. I made only one change and that is that I did not use the tab as it did not fit in the sketch.
I had wanted to make a center step card for some time and the Home Sweet Home stamp seemed the perfect reason to do so. It took me two days to do this as I had lots to dry and wait before I could put it all together.
I started with the tutorial for this card from Frances in splitcoaststampers, resources section. After I had my base. I cut all my panels in various combining colors as I went along with it. I did not use pattern papers except for her jacket and skirt. I embossed all the pink paper-Gina K cardstock. Once that was done i worked on my panel. I stamped it with Hero Arts friend stamp and distressed it with several different distress inks-tumbled glass, wild honey, milled lavender, peeled paint and scattered straw. I added some pearls with my water brush, it shines and glimmers in real life. I added fishtail flag stax, my absolute favorite buy. I added some trendy tape before I cut them out, I love that look.
I then started with the stamp. I stamped the PI-Home sweet home, I colored her with copics. I paper pieced her skirt (lilybee designs-happily lost) and jacket (basic grey- sweet threads) and colored it with copics too. I popped another key on her. I made a frame around her, I used Quic Kutz rectangles. I added some brads, a key charm, isn’t that fun. I added some stickles( got to love that stuff). She has a added rolled scallop flower with the leaves in felt from prima donna petals and stickles for her center. I added glossy accents to her hair where the mid section joins, her shoes and her belt.
I then added more fun stuff. I stamped Tag You’re IT-butterfly 6 times. I used only 5. I colored each one with Copics and some pearls. I cut them out and then cut a lot of butterflies from the notched tag die. I did all of their bodies with MFT twine-blossom, flax and lilac. I then stamped the sentiment with Momento Ink on a fishtail flag stax and clear embossed it. I punched two holes on it’s side( i saw this done by Nicole Heady and had to repeat it) and added twine fringe. I enjoyed all elements in putting this card together, It was a little different for me as I was focusing more on techniques with this card.
Here is the inside. I stamped her once more and then finished it with some fishtail flag stax and a butterfly with stickles and twine.
I am also entering it in two other challenge as it fits the Girlie Girl at Jellypark and Stamp Tv to add a charm.
I would love to share another card that my lovely daughter made for me on Mother’s day using I’ve got Your Back. Love it. She wrote a whole letter inside.
The eyes on the top are I guess her way of saying she is watching me most of the time.
Thank you for visiting and I love and appreciate each comment.
