I made this card using the new image Emma in her cool cap from Fred She Said. I used the precolored version. Normally I like to color my images, but she was so sweet, I could not, not make a card with Her. Her shirt is just adorable and it comes in 6 different colors, all the choice you need.

The thing I love about Fred She Said is that there are colored and uncolored versions and so you can pair them up as you like. I used the sketch Saturday

As you can see there is lots of Fred She Said here.

I used four different Fred She Said images. The Wheelbarrow– I colored it with many Distress markers-Scattered Straw, Mustard Seeds, Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Forest Moss, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. This image is a true pleasure to color. I then used Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass distress inks to create the grass and the sky. I used Precolored Emma in her cool Cap and popped her on dimensionals. I added  Flutterbies for your flowers(butterflies) I colored them with many different inks and pens. I used distress inks, glitter pens and distress markers. They are so beautiful and are great to tyr different mediums of color on. I added a MFT clearly sentimental about Harvesting sentiment, a ribbon and lots of brads. I also added a couple of MFT cloud dienamics. My last touch was the precolored Pink polka dotty flowers from Fred She Said, they are my absolute favorite flowers. Pattern Paper are from Basic Grey- Sweet threads and My Mind’s Eye- Dwell.

Here is the inside:

I made this card using the sketch for the June contest in MFT stamps. I made only one change and that is that the back panel is not as long as it is in the sketch. This is my fifth card in the contest. Each card has had me step out a little out of my zone and I have enjoyed making each one. I like trying new things. This card has me drawing again.

I have drawn trees and scenes always as far as I remember. When I saw  this hula girl I knew I’d do just that. So I used the sketch to make a square card, this is 6×6 card. I started with the background on the main image first. I made a mask with post it note and made the ground with tea dye distress ink and took some rubbing alcohol and a piece of denim to create some dimension on the ground. I added some crushed olive distress ink on the top and then tumbled glass and broken china distress ink. When that was done I drew in the tree with the coconuts and the grass and little bird/critter on a rock using black soot distress marker. I colored the tree with copics and the grass. YG03, YG95,97, 99. E13,15, 37,44. I stamped the Hula girl on a separate paper, colored her with copics, E00,11,53 love that orange YR18,68 and all the BV20,23,25, V06 I used on her skirt. I did her skirt twice and added a cut to each strip and adhered it on the top with glossy accents.(thank you Karen for the wonderful Idea). Her flower on the top was also done twice. with B28 and a Melissa Frances pearl colored with R29. Her hair has Y08, YR12, and YR23. I just love the saying Go Coconuts, for once it is not stamped in black but with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink. I cut the whole thing With Out of Box technique and rounded the corners.

I thought the combo with orange and yellow would do well so that is what I did. All cardstock is DCWV (it’s their new, creamy pack) and pattern paper is Basic Grey-Lauderdale. Lots of fun dienamics on this card. I used the squiggles, the sun(just loooove it, don’t know why I did not get it sooner but I am so glad I have it now.) The notched tab border on the side and the awesome hula flower. I cut it’s leaves with both cardstock and with MFT sour apple felt, like the double color look. I added copics to the flower, leaf and sun. I added a small button with MFT blossom Twine with a knot so that it looks like stamen in between. Lastly I added glossy accents to the coconuts.

I used Jody Boosters for the sun, and the main image. I like that it is not too thick and it just gives the right amount of dimension.

Here is the inside. I also added the squiggle dienamic inside and drew some coconuts in it. I stamped the saying from the mini VIP set and rewrote it with Crumb Cake stampin up marker to bring it out more. Added a Zva pearl.

I am also entering it in Simon Says Stamp-Anything Goes.

basic grey, brad, flower, flowers, handmade card, handmade flowers, Indie Chic, Little Darlings, melissa frances, MFT dienamics, pearls, Pure Innocence, recessed window

This is my fourth card in the contest  using the June contest sketch  from MFT stamps. I made it for the contest. I have truly enjoyed this sketch. I made only one change and that is that I put the tab on the side as it did not fit in the sketch on the top. I did flip the sketch.

I made a Recessed Window card. At first i thought it would be hard but i was surprised how easy it is to do. The tutorial can be found at splitcoaststampers here

I started at first with the exact tutorial but found that it was small for my purpose, so this is a resized version, this is a 8×6 card. the inside is 5×7. I started with a pattern paper, be careful, it can tear easily. of course by the time i did the inside and outside it has tons of reinforcement to hold good.

When i first saw this background at Little Darlings i knew it is a perfect fit for my PI’s. I had to get it, and i am glad i did. I stamped the PI-Jump for joy. I then masked her and added the background, added some more clouds. then leaving her mask in, i masked the sky and added Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint distress ink for the grass. I removed that added the grass mask and colored the sky using tumbled glass and broken china. Left her mask on and spritz it with pearlized water. Let it dry. remove her mask.

i used copics to add color to the grass YG95,97,99. I doodled all the flowers, i wanted to have just a bed of wild flowers and scattered flowers across the grass. I colored them with copics, R29, B66, Y08, V12, B28. I colored her with E00, E02,E11,R20. I paper pieced her with paper from the new Indie Chic-Saffron(it is an awesome paper pad). I added R29 for some highlights. I stamped the clouds and cut them out, coloring them with C3 and 5 and outlined with C7.  I wanted to use twine for the rope but decided to use sew floss as it gives a better rope feel. I added a yellow Y02 around her versus a B00 as i wanted her to look like she is in direct sun. I added rhinestones on her feet and the rope in place of knots. I popped her with Jody Boosters.

The papers used are Bazill Carstock, Indie Chic-Saffron, Basic Grey-Sweet threads and Lauderdale. Some pearls are from my stash and some are Mellisa Frances, all colored with R22. The ribbon is from my stash(love how it went well with the colors). The gingham i think gives it nice ground. I always like that look.

I added the bracket tab dienamic for the sentiment and brushed it with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The flower trio dienamic was cut with papers form Indie Chic-Saffron and Basic Grey-Lauderdale with red brads for the centers.

When you make a recessed Window card be prepared to do a lot of the inside. Here is the back (you can see the recessed portion which is now raised in the back) and  inside.

I used the same papers and added the layered label dienamics for my sentiment. I popped the layers with some Jody boosters. The sentiment is from the same stamp set VIP collection. It also has mini brads from the same color family as the large brad. Sentiment was brushed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I am also entering it in

artist palette, basic grey, brush, cardstock, handmade card, MFT dienamics, paint, you color my world

I made this using the sketch for MFT guest contest for June.

I received some new MFT goodies and had to work with them.

here is my card

When i saw this artist palette i knew i had to get this PI- You Color My World.

I only made one change with the sketch, i used bracket tab and put it a layer down as that is how it fit my sketch and i also did flip the sketch.

I knew this stamp and this die were perfect for a easel card, so i made a twisted easel card. I used Basic Grey- Sweet threads for my pattern paper. I used aged mahagony for all my edges, i Love that color. I colored her with copics and paper pieced her pants, pocket and hat. Her hat is cute.I added the new squiggle dies behind her on the ribbon as a accent. they are lovely as they are.

The copics used on the PI- E33,35,37,00,11,13,53. V04,15,17, YR18,68. G02, R20, Y08. Sakura glitter pens for the palette in her hand and glossy accents.

Rainbow- R29, YR68, Y11, G07, B28, V17, R20 and V12. Lots of stickles dried overnight. White gel pen to accent the brush.

here is a close up of her

The palette in the inside has all paint dabs made with felt. Here is a closeup. also i used pearls i had in my stash to help the easel stand up.
